Wall thinning at the air to ground interface with some pinhole leaks repaired. Encapsulation of the blind flange was also needed.
…the holding clamp was cut away and the section left corroded onto the riser was also cut and ground away. The surface was prepared by hand using wire brush and solvent cleaning before two standard 8″ Clock Spring coils were installed side-by-side.
Field report includes details about main aviation fuel supply line to Heathrow Airport repaired at bend location with Clock Spring coils.
Multiple pin hole leaks over a 35’ section due to corrosive nature of the product (82% nitrogen, 6.5% acetic acid, 1.9% water, 8.3% oxygen, 1% hydrogen bromide, 0.2% methyl acetate, 0.1% methanol). Line shut-down not an option. Repair includes leak stop and application of multiple Snap Wrap units.
Field report features extensive external corrosion of up to 80% metal loss on 12’ bend radius either side of canal crossing.
Clock Springs were cut to suit the specific bend radius and in total 18 units were installed on both bend sections. Hand spool technique was used to install the coils due to tight clearances.
Refinery Leak – Pressure removed from the pipeline and the various holes were plugged, following which manual surface preparation was completed prior to application of leak stop material over the plugs which after curing 2 x 12” Snap Wraps were installed to reinforce the complete repair.
Field report features the repair of a 10″ separator tee leak repaired utilizing Clock Spring Contour in an offshore setting
Field report features external corrosion on offshore riser with combination of a traditional Clock Spring repair combined with Clock Spring Contour to fix complex geometry situation
Field report features a 4 layer Clock Spring coil applied using the hand spool technique to accommodate the tight access inside a process plant. Pipe rack was at a 5m height level. Initially a scan of the defect was made using the Eddy Current Array device following which the repair was installed within 25 minutes.
Field report features a pipeline damaged by backhoe loader during installation. Resulting defect stretched across longitudinal seam weld and was successfully repaired using a Clock Spring repair sleeve. Despite having to use manual surface preparation, repair was completed within 1 day.
